Sol is not the "actual name" of the sun. Sol is the Latin word for sun (and in some modern languages as well). This would be like saying the "actual name" of Earth is Erde because that's what it happens to be called in German.

Agreed with above. Also, the Sun is the closest known star to earth.

What? The sun's real name is Sol...so what if it is Latin? It is still the real name. I know that sol is the closest but you know what I mean.

What makes sol the sun's "real name" then? Please substantiate that claim. What defines its "real name" please?

Sol is just what it has always been called. Just like how the planets are named after gods because the romans and greeks believed that they were the actual gods.

Yes, the sun is mainly composed of hydrogen, but not as a gas; it is a plasma. And even if we don't count the sun, Alpha Centauri is not a single star.

Isn't Proxima Centauri the nearest star?

I agree with the above comments, plus I find it strange to have a bunch of questions about the universe and then 5 in a row about Jupiter.

The Sun is the nearest known star to Earth, followed by Proxima Centauri, followed by Alpha Centauri AB. Also, all that stuff about the Sun's name.

I typed in crab about 4 times then gave up, only to find I had to write 'crab nebula', surely nebula was implied by the question...

The question of whether Uranus or Neptune is biggest is also more complicated than it seems. Uranus is a big larger in size, but Neptune's a bit larger in mass. This is because Neptune is denser than Uranus.

To be honest I was only 14 when I made this so give me some credit. Looking back, I made ALOT of mistakes in this :L
