I thought about it, but there's a whopping 2 cities in the source in those time zones combined. Not worth even a jokey quiz, in my opinion.

Arizona is in this time zone half the year.

Arizona's in Pacific more than half, actually. Midmarch to early November is almost 8 months for this year. I know technically it's in Mountain Standard year round, but that's the same offset as Pacific Daylight.

You would probably have to make it cities above 150,000 or 140,000 to even get another non-California city on here. The city of Los Angeles alone has more people than all of Nevada, and probably more than Oregon, and the San Francisco-San Jose area has as many people as Washington.

Ugh, I think I did the worst on this one out of all the time zone quizzes, and this is where I live. Freakin' California stealing the show.

13 of the cities are in the Los Angeles-San Diego area, compared with only 8 cities in Nevada/Washington/Oregon.

As Geo-Crazy noted, only eight of these cities are outside California - but the real surprise is, half of those are in Nevada and only one is in Oregon.

Oops - for some reason, I thought that the only cities in Pacific Time are California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska...

Only three of these cities are in L.A. County. There's actually more (four) in Orange County. Two in San Diego, two in Riverside, and one city per county for the rest, except for three in Clark County, Nevada.

If you brought the bar down to cities of 100,000 or above, though, you'd get a huge influx of L.A. County cities, like at least 15.

@larry: Arizona may follow the Pacific Daylight TIME, but it is still a part of the Mountain Time ZONE. Sporcle 1, Larry 0 (maybe you have come out on top with other sporcle battles, if so my bad.)

@larry: Sorry, but as motherboyXXX noted, Arizona is in the Mountain Time Zone; however, it largely doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time--the Arizona section of the Navajo Indian reservation does follow DST. (Incidentally, DST is now observed from mid-March to mid-November which means it's 8 months, not 6--but I digress.)
