A very important note: tied states are listed in alphabetical order. And obviously I couldn't list every city for the first three. Enjoy the quiz!

I decided that having to type tied answers in a certain order could make the quiz a bit tedious, so I accepted abbreviations and slashed the time. Opinions on how this affects the quiz's difficulty would be appreciated.

I like the idea, but when the quiz accepts "Cali" it sort of throws me. I'm just so used to typing it all out, but I understand your gesture!

It's actually CA, the abbreviation, it accepts, so that isn't a problem with all of them at least. I think I'll let the comment votes inform my decision as to whether or not to keep the changes, since there's some issues either way.

I'd recommend not accepting the abbreviations and raising the time by a few minutes, maybe to 6 minutes, especially if you'll still have them guessed in order.

I guess I'm just impatient, but after guessing, no kidding, Virginia, Colorado, and North Carolina (in order) for what turned out to be Arizona, I gave up. I wish there was an easy fix for this kind of thing.

Yeah, I feel your pain, but I just can't think of a way to balance people just guessing all the states and having to guess tied states in order.

I think the quiz is great as it is now. I just have to get used to reading the descriptions on user quizzes now. But I found out pretty quickly that the states were alphabetical, so that wasn't really a problem. I thought Tennessee had 5 of them tops, and Illinois 5 or 6, so I -rightfully- missed those. :)

I don't think you should have to answer these in order, but otherwise it's a great idea!

The sorting through the alphabet/in order is quite frusturating.

I've played hundreds of quizzes on Sporcle but never registered....I had to in order to comment on this quiz. Each state that has for example 5 cities should show up in any box. I gather from other comments that this is not possible? But I would stay clicked into one certain box and it would accept nothing even if I was guessing the right state (number-wise) in the wrong box. Frustrating!

Oh, this is on the most played today? Uh-oh, it's my worst quiz! I must try to fix it up.

Lol Kiwi, even your worst quizzes are successful. I have one suggestion though: put Louisiana as a bonus answer at least. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Lafayette are cities over 100,000 - and there's the CDP Metairie with over 100,000 as well. Arlington, VA (also a CDP) is counted too.
