No respect for Fall City? :(
Nov 7th, 2009 at 17:07 GMT
Perhaps I should specify that this is for the main games only. Fall City doesn't have a population listed on Bulbapedia anyway.
Nov 8th, 2009 at 01:47 GMT
in my day there were only 150 pokemon
Nov 8th, 2009 at 02:05 GMT
I guessed Fall City as well. I hand-counted after this quiz and saw 50 unique people- can that at least make Fall City, Fiore a bonus?
Nov 8th, 2009 at 03:08 GMT
Sure, why not? Bonus added.

Haha, awesome quiz. Love the resemblance to geography quizzes.

Thanks to this quiz, I started thinking of all the Pokemon cities, and now I've got that "Viridian City" song that used to play at the end of some Pokemon episodes stuck in my head. Good quiz overall.

This is such a creative idea for a quiz! I'm glad my lack of Johto knowledge didn't hinder me any.
Jan 19th, 2010 at 23:54 GMT
I'm on the road... Yeah, only Kanto was in my mind
Jan 20th, 2010 at 00:57 GMT
Its Gameography! A gaming and geography quiz mixed together!
Jan 20th, 2010 at 01:11 GMT
Pokemon cities and their rough real life equivalents: Goldenrod City = Osaka; Lilycove City = Oita; Jubilife City = Sapporo; Saffron City = Tokyo; Hearthome City = Obihiro; Veilstone City = Kitami; Rustboro City = Nagasaki; Slateport City = Miyazaki; Oreburgh City = Chitose; Celadon City = Yokohama; and of course, Mt. Moon = Mt. Fuji

rlnintendo is right on about the idea behind this quiz: to combine one of my favorite game series and my favorite Sporcle category. I'm surprised but happy this got published!
Jan 20th, 2010 at 14:04 GMT
This quiz is a brilliant idea, however I think it could be made accessible to a larger population by dividing it up into the different regions and having 4 cities from each or something, as most people will likely only know Kanto (I imagine). The overall rank could still be given in the extra column (along with population, of course).
Jan 20th, 2010 at 18:53 GMT
Excellent Quiz. Brings back great memories. I'm curious; how do you know the population of each city? Do you count all the people in the game?

Great quiz idea, but I don't recognize the legitimacy of anything after Kanto. In my mind, my 2 correct answers is 100% for the quiz.
Jan 20th, 2010 at 19:17 GMT
Um...The_Goat...your Hoenn ones are wrong. Rustboro is Fukuoka, Slateport is Nagasaki and Lilycove is Kagoshima.
Jan 21st, 2010 at 00:22 GMT
I'm guessing I was the only one to get exasperated after many years without Pokemon and try Jersey City.
Jan 21st, 2010 at 01:38 GMT
@jaredr5, I'm guessing so. I didn't count them myself, but I trust Bulbapedia as an accurate source of Poke-info.
Jan 21st, 2010 at 09:10 GMT
The_Goat's Kanto info is wrong too; Saffron and Celadon are both parts of Tokyo, corresponding to Marunouchi (in Chiyoda-ku) and Shinjuku-ku, respectively. Vermilion is Yokohama. Mt Moon is based on a mountain in Gunma (Mt Silver is Mt Fuji). Veilstone is Abashiri (Celestic is Kitami) and Oreburgh is Yubari. Great Game! my only question, is when you say population, what exactly are you counting? the number of houses?
Jan 23rd, 2010 at 17:22 GMT
@Eabryt- i think its the number of people. i don't think goldenrod city has 77 houses
Jan 26th, 2010 at 01:11 GMT
Good quiz. I missed a lot of 'em though cause I have not played Diamond/Pearl yet.
Feb 3rd, 2010 at 21:40 GMT
i could only get goldenrod, saffron, and celadon for obvious reasons
Feb 13th, 2010 at 20:56 GMT
Is there any full list of populations, or do we/I have to make a list on my own by checking every city on bulbapedia?

boring and how do u know populatiton
Mar 15th, 2010 at 20:52 GMT
@Eitan81: By looking on Bulbapedia (or should I say Rocketpedia)
Mar 15th, 2010 at 20:53 GMT
Congrats on getting this published.
Mar 20th, 2010 at 01:58 GMT
Darn, just missed Oreburgh :D Got bonus for Fall city by accident; typing Fallarbor (I WAS DESPERATE)

Jul 15th, 2010 at 04:15 GMT
Haha, I could only name 2 - Saffron and Goldenrod. I could picture Celadon city in my head, but the name escaped me! Lilycove was also right on the tip of my tongue. Great idea for those hardcore pokemon fans who still keep up with the new stuff!
Jul 20th, 2010 at 00:58 GMT
Oh goodie. 3 cities Ive heard of.
Aug 13th, 2010 at 01:08 GMT
No way! Saffron is bigger than Celadon?! Whaaaaaaat?!
Dec 1st, 2010 at 02:12 GMT
i got all of them except the Hoenn ones and thats because thats the only gen i havnt played. why did i say to myself that i need to grow up. you can never grow out of pokemon, it just drags you back in and i love it for that!! :)
Jan 16th, 2011 at 15:09 GMT
This quiz is seriously outdated!
Feb 20th, 2011 at 17:02 GMT
I got every single one except Veilstone. But I've got to admit it was a good quiz!
Feb 20th, 2011 at 19:56 GMT
cool idea for a quiz, really fun!
Mar 1st, 2011 at 04:35 GMT
Unova makes most of this quiz wrong now. You should fix it.
Apr 23rd, 2011 at 07:00 GMT
woo guessed the unova ones first, thought there were more on there at first
Apr 24th, 2011 at 05:10 GMT
I am pissed at B/W for knocking Goldenrod off of the top of this list
