Important note: Placing some cities on either side of the Mississippi was more difficult than I realized- several such as Minneapolis, St Paul, and New Orleans were left out because they seem to be on both sides. If anyone can confirm or deny this, please comment so my quiz can be as accurate as possible. Thanks!

Another note- the western counterpart will be out very soon if it isn't at the time of your reading this.

So sad Bflo just misses the cut... As for your question above, Mpls and St. Paul do span both sides of the river, but NO is situated entirely on the east bank, so it should be on here and bump off Newark. Love your stuff, Kiwi.

Ok elnok, I've taken your word for it and added New Orleans (Newark is a bonus now). And thanks! Glad to see people like my quizzes! Also, Boston is indeed awesome.

What I would really like to see is: 100 largest cities of the Eastern United States. That would be enlightening and difficult.

Mobile, Alabama, has a population of 406,309. But that's the sources fault. Good quiz

Damn, second time in a row I forgot Toledo! I also forgot New Orleans as it straddles both sides.

@elnok: I know I'm a bit late, but New Orleans isn't quite entirely on the east bank. The neighborhood of Algiers lies in the city limits right across the river from downtown.
