The original quiz:
http://www.sporcle.com/games/Unidentifiedkiwi/crossin_borders
This time, we begin our journey in a slightly less jokey location on a different continent.

Liked this better even than your original. Tough to keep track of borders used, and Namibia/Zambia took a while!

Much much harder then the first time. Alot of really short borders, with much to choose from.

Why did we finish in Angola? On a technicality, we can keep running to the Republic of the Congo, and onward to Cameroon, Chad, CAR, and back to Cameroon, before getting stuck in Gabon.

@marpocky: that's not even a technicality. It's true.

I made a small computer program that calculates the route from all possible starting locations. Presuming my data is correct (at least it gave correct answer for this and the published quiz) most common ending points are Finland (35 times), The Gambia (33), Kazakhstan (26) and Venezuela (20). The (by far) longest route starts from Pakistan and has 69 steps. There's few routes that jump from Europe to America if you count French Guinea as a part of France. The one starting from Hungary is the longest of those (21 steps). One short but interesting route has Ecuador as start and a finish. I didn't find any route that would go through more than two continents. Feel free to use my findings if you are planing to do more of these and ask if you want more data.

the DRC doesn't even have a border with Sudan? by my estimates, it seems the answer should be tanzania or south sudan? can we update these?

@uarizona: Before July 2011, South Sudan was part of Sudan, so the DRC did border Sudan. The quiz needs to be updated.
