	You're right, a bit of a slip-up on my part. Toledo has been added to this quiz and VB has been moved to the Southern one.

	If you're going to move VB to the South, then you need to redefine the quiz. Maybe define the South as below 3630' or* in the Confederacy. North is everything north of that line that wasn't in the Confederacy.

	Yeah, this is kind of a silly definition of "northern." I'd move it up a ways, and knock out places like Washington, Baltimore, and Louisville which no one would really think of as "northern"

	Ok, about the Virginia Beach thing... all I can say is that it was very early in the morning. Oops. And in defense of the 36*30', the line has been arbitrarily used to divide the country for a long time, and the distribution of cities north and south of it is surprisingly equal. You're right, some of what is considered the south is above the line, but when I made these quizzes I was thinking of a strictly geographic, non-cultural sense of north and south that would require a bit more thought than just what is normally considered southern.

	The problem with picking an arbitrary geographic line, is that I doubt too many people can tell you where the 36*30' line is (until reading the VB comments).

	This parallel forms the Missouri Compromise line, used to divide the country into slave and free states before the civil war. It made sense to start there when I was looking for a consistent line to divide the country in two. When I made this I was going for just "Name all the cities north of this line!", but it seems that people attribute too much meaning to the North/South terminology for the majority to accept that. Oh well, it was a learning experience as a quizmaker.

	Maybe use the Mason-Dixon line. Of course that's the border between PA and MD, was surveyed over 230 years ago, is well-known and became, in part, the border between free and slave states (1781). Oh, it's at 39*43' N.

	Good idea for a quiz, but I agree an arbitrary line of latitude is probably too hard - maybe define north as a city that is in a state that either borders canada/great lakes itself, or borders a state which borders canada?

	I think having an arbitrary line of historical significance is a perfectly good reason for doing things! Regardless of whether you go with Mason-Dixon or Missouri Compromise, it's pretty useless for reference by the time you get to the west unless you really know your coordinates well. I had fun going from north to south, figuring out where to stop and then trying to fill in. Still blew a bunch of them, but I think it's a great way of doing things.

	I would entitle the quiz "Can you name the cities about parallel 3630'" Part of the fun is trying to figure out how far south you have to go. Who cares why you picked that particular parallel- it coulda been 3230', or 37*, it'd still be just as fun.
