Pretty sure you meant Willie Mays, not Willis.

How about an asterisk to denote if a player is still active? Although, Andruw Jones, Ivan Rodriguez, Torii Hunter, and Scott Rolen are the only actives right now.

I feel really ignorant after taking this really good quiz. I never realized that the only players with 400 HR and 10 GG were Mays, Griffey, Schmidt ... and Andruw Jones.

Anyone want to start naming young'uns likely to be on this list in 20 years?
I imagine Ryan Zimmerman and Evan Longoria have decent chances. Maybe Robinson Cano.

Surprised Palmeiro wasn't a bonus answer...569 HR and 3 GGs...even though he won one of them in a season where he played like 30 games at first base and DH'ed the rest.

Ryno, one of only 2 second-basemen on there. For those who seem to think he wasn't really HOF-worthy. Dominant defensively for a decade, while also hitting for power (and average) for a long time, and being able to run.

somehow, one of the most overrated defensive shortstops of all time, will be on here soon...jeter

Sadly, when taken together, the 3 Molina brothers still don't get to the HR threshold.

I'm still slightly shocked at some of the names that aren't on this list...Albert Pujols, Carlos Beltran, and Alex Rodriguez being the first ones that spring to mind.

@pwtiii: I'm a White Sox fan, and the only person who doesn't think Ryne Sandberg was Hall-of-Fame worthy was the other second baseman on this list. Sandberg is easily one of the four best second baseman in history and it was a crime that he was not a first ballot guy.

man, poor graig nettles. he would've easily (and actually should have) been on this list if it weren't for brooks robinson.

Ryno was certainly worthy, but more like top ten than top four. I think advocates of the truly criminally overlooked 2B like Whitaker and Grich tend to tear him down to help make their guys' case, which is unfair to him. All of them belong, and there's no reason to begrudge Ryno the fact that he's the one who got the recognition.

Need to add Jeter now—and, if he keeps hitting homers as regularly as he has been (in ARod’s absence), Chavez may also need to be added.

This list proves that the greatest third basemen of all time is, no doubt, Michael Jack Schmidt...distant, distant runner-up is Brooks Robinson.

@sexybeast-i saw a special about nettles on the yes network a few years back, and they showed his defensive highlights. unbelieveable stuff. hes a little before my time, but one of my dad's favorites.
