Just a note about the IUCN categories. Native means that a confirmed wild population is found in the country. Regionally Extinct means that there's almost certainly no wild leopards. Presence Uncertain means that the IUCN does not have enough information to determine population status.

As much as I know, the last Anatolian Leopard, the leopard that's native to Turkey was seen in the 1970's or so. Recently another one is said to be spotted. I'm surprised that Turkey still qualifies for a country having native leopards. Since there's a reliable source, I won't argue with that.

The existence of a distinct subspecies of "Anatolian leopard", Panthera pardus tulliana, is up for debate. Either way, its range is supposed to be restricted to southwestern Turkey. According to the IUCN, existence of leopards in western Turkey is unclear, but there are confirmed populations in the eastern part of the country.

Wow...you know my country's wildlife situation better than I do. Guess the rumors about leopards re-emerging in Turkey are true. This was a very enlightening quiz for me, thank you.

Just one thing, I would think South Sudan would be in this game, yes?
