What about Peri, Lully and Hindemith?

All excellent composers, to be sure. As the note says, I used an objective criterion — one opera with at least 12 performances at the Met — precisely so I wouldn't get into too much trouble over who was and wasn't included. A couple of good ones (Adams, Catalani, some others I can't recall at the moment) almost made the cut but not quite.

For some reason, Wolf-Ferrari came to me before Wagner. If you wanted a more complete alphabet, you could make a "Name the composer with the most opera performances per letter" quiz as well.

There are some surprises here - I can't believe that the Met haven't performed any Haydn operas 12 times!

You left out Saint-Saens. Samson & Delilah has gone up hundreds of times.

@tdrury88: You're right — thanks for the catch! No idea how that happened. It's fixed now.
