Extremely challenging quiz. I got only B, D and T, and hit on M while trying Mahler. Knew also X, but couldn't get the spelling right.

This is a TOUGH quiz, but I found it compelling for the whole (necessary) time limit. I was very proud to pull off 11 of these, and there are only a few more names I recognize, even with the answers. I wonder if there's a more general source that would allow for less obscure answers? I also wonder what Last Alphabetically would bring up.

I was more or less in G's position (though I admit to giving up with five minutes to go)--managed 11 of them, had heard of only a few others. It's a great concept, but perhaps prohibitively difficult?

Agree with all the strictures here. I liked the concept, but was disappointed to see that only about half the names at most seemed plausibly gettable. Still, I figured I'd toss it out there and see how it played.

Tough but compelling sounds right to me. I got M while going for Lorin Maazel, and I was so disappointed when John Cabot and King Faisal turned out not to be winners. Kicking myself for not getting d'Iberville, but not quite so vigorously now that I see no one else did, either.
