| As the European territory consists of areas outside Europe, the timezones are quite diverse. The continent (+UK) has timezones UTC, UTC+1, and UTC+2. However, Reunion, the Azores, French Guyana and Guadeloupe and Martinique are also integral parts of the EU territory. Therefore, the timezones UTC+4, UTC-1, UTC-3 and UTC-4 (respectively) are also added, making a total of 7. The contiguous US has four timezones, to which the Alaskan and Hawaiian timezones are added, making a total of 6. As stated in the game note, I am not counting dependent territories outside the states for the US, and am not counting the OCT's for the EU. In this way I think they are comparable in the best possible way. |
