| Thank you all for your feedback. @tahitiwahini - (1) I added the spelling you recommended for the capital of Sri Lanka. (2) The capital of Kiribati is South Tarawa, on the Tarawa atoll. The former is more precise, but the latter struck me as reasonable enough to be accepted on Oceania-6, although not displayed. (3) I agree with you entirely on the issue of abbreviations. That said, I suppose I should accept "St. Johns" as an acceptable spelling for "Saint John's" under North America-10, and similarly for "St. George's". @Edelweiss - Agreed. I added Dar es Salaam as an acceptable (albeit not displayed) answer to Africa-11. @mbc - I suppose you are technically right about the apostrophe being a letter in the Tongan alphabet. I will add it as an acceptable answer for Oceania-10, but I'm going to leave it in Oceania-9 as well, since nearly everyone (including the Sporcle software!) treats an apostrophe as a punctuation mark. |
