| Hi everyone: International Style Competitive Ballroom Dancing -- also called Dance Sport -- is a competitive activity consisting of 10 internationally recognized dance styles divided into two categories: Ballroom (Slow Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Quick Step) and Latin (Samba, Rumba, Cha-cha-cha, Paso Doble, and Jive). Competitors can compete in either of the two categories or in a so-called 10-dance competition. There are a lot of other partner dances that are a lot of fun -- salsa, mambo, merengue, all the various styles of swing, nightclub two-step, texas two-step, hustle, Argentine tango, etc. However none of these are part of the International Style Competitive Ballroom Dance (or Dance Sport). Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for enjoying the quiz and offering feedback! |
