	Assuming this is supposed to be about the books (and I have no reason to assume otherwise, seeing as book only characters like Radagast, Glorfindel, and Bombadil appear), it seems like there's a lot of characters missing for no clear reason - Imrahil, Beregond, Bergil, Mablung, Hama, Elfhelm, Grimbold, Erkenbrand, the Sackville-Bagginses, Fatty Bolger, the Gaffer, Rosie Cotton, Farmer Maggot, various other hobbits, Erestor, Galdor, Cirdan, Elladan, Elrohir, Halbarad, Gloin. If you're going to include such minor characters as Haldir and Gamling (especially the latter, who has a significant role in the movies but barely appears in the books), I don't see how you can exclude them.

	@ johnlk: You're right, and in an effort to make the game more accessable, I changed it to Characters in the extended edition LOTR movies. Some of the answers still require you to have read the books (or done extra research on the movies) but you'd still do well if you just saw the movies. Everyone else, let me know if I missed any characters that you want included in the quiz. Also, there are 4 bonus answers for unnamed creatures/animals in the movies that have names in the books.

	I'm not sure, but I don't believe that we know that Gollum and Deagol were actually hobbits. If I remember Frodo referrs to them Gollum as having been "not so different from a hobbit" or something like that in the movies. I don't recall that the books ever say what they were. Kind of a quibble I suppose. Also I agree with dampv - Isildur especially should be included.

	The Balrog and the Wizard are Maiar, too. Not too important in the latter case as they are given an obvious extra heading. But to simply classify the Balrog as a monster does not do it justice.

	Thanks for the comments, fixed a few things mentioned and added a hobbit i forgot, you'll have to play again to find out who. keep them coming. I feel that Gollum and Deagol are portrayed as close enough to hobbits to keep them in that category, giving them their own category would be superfluous. Can't believe I forgot Isildur, thanks for that one. And Bill the Pony now accepts just Bill.

	Gollum and Deagol are definitely not hobbits. Something akin to Stoors, if I remember correctly. My feedback: it's way too hard to predict whether a given character is going to be included or not, so the quiz ends up seeming arbitrary.

	@ wumpusbear: how is it arbitrary? I included every character that is in the movies. Did I leave any out? Are there any included that weren't in the movies? If no to both, then the quiz isn't arbitrary at all

	Also, @ wumpusbear: Stoors were one of the three races of Hobbits. Hobbit being the broader catagory, so smeagol and deagol definitely were Hobbits. They were Stoors, the 4 fellowship hobbits were descended from Fallohides, and the other race were Harfoots. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Stoor

	YEAH! 1st quiz i've seen who's writter knows that Morgoth aka Melkor corrupted maia into balrogs. after that bad points a pony is not a horse, Aragorn is at least 2 generations since the fall of numenor (sustitute;elendil) which was in the 2nd age. shelob is not a monster simply a realy big spider (offspring of ungloiant i think),yeah wizards are maia Istari is the name they are given(by elves probably they name every thing) oh and isildur is one of the faithful that LEFT numenor. right bit negative post but a very good quiz i shugest a new/changed catorgery; Men (Arnor) isildur,eledil,arathorn,aragorn

	Just want to point out that since you changed it to the films rather than the books, Shelob should come under RotK, not TT. Other than that, nice quiz.

	Hi, nice quiz you've got here. ^^ There are many characters you left out that appeared in the films or at least the extended editions, but were not named in them...you'd need to have read the books or watched the special features to know who they are. I suggest including them anyway, because I'm a giant nerd. It may be better to set them as bonus answers. The only character that was named that I don't see is Ted Sandyman. Here are the others: Elladan, Elrohir (at the reforging of Narsil), Gloin (Council of Elrond), Gil-Galad (prologue, I believe only in the extended version), Elendil (come on, we see him owned by Sauron, that's unforgettable), Lindir (Council of Elrond, yes, that one's obscure, but there is an Elf there that's supposed to be him...you may not want to include this, but I'll love it if you do xD). That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there were more. I can't recall if Cirdan appeared at the Grey Havens or when the rings were given to the Elves, I think maybe not, need to check that...
