| I teach statistics and surveys suffer from samples that have selection bias, meaning that you get the responses of only the particular people who are going to be answering that kind of survey in that kind of location instead of getting a random sample of pizza eaters. It is well known among, well, anyone who has taken statistics probably (hopefully :) ) that a survey sample is very poor way to get an accurate estimate of whatever you're trying to find out. We don't even know the sample size, which could, along with the selection bias, account for shrimp being in the top 10. So, I'm afraid Tahnan and even TubeChat are correct. I don't think that makes it a terrible quiz, but it is at least a misnamed quiz because it implies that these really are the top 10 toppings of people in general, which we can know without checking a different way. |
