| Between the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia, Anglophone nations comprise well north of 400,000,000 people. I realize that some of those are people who speak other language (Spanish, Thai, Hindi, Vietnamese) in the home -- but I have a hard time believing it's nearly a quarter of the population. Given that English is the primary language of several other, smaller nations (Ireland, Jamaica, Barbados, Belize, several other Caribbean countries), that number is almost certainly very, very low. |
