How are brussels sprouts like broccoli? Aubergine should be accepted for eggplant.

You need to accept a lot more for brassica oleracea. Different cultivars of this species include broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts (note the 's'), cabbage, kohlrabi, kale, and collard greens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brassica_oleracea).
