| i'm actually not surprised by some of the omissions. when you look at the list, it seems that while the quality does matter, when it comes to a survey like this, popularity (i.e. sales) of the series probably has a greater effect on its placement (more people actually own the games and therefore are likely to mention them in their survey response). while the metroid series is amazing and well-loved by its fanbase, its first several games actually sold relatively poorly, especially compared to other nintendo franchises. |
