	No Nazgul/Black Riders/Witch King? You should also make it clear in the instructions that animals are included (dogs, horses, ponies), and that any historical characters even mentioned in passing are included.

	Fair point about expanding the description. I didn't put in Nazgul as only individual characters are included, as for the Witch King, I don't think his title was mentioned in The Fellowship, only him being the captain.

	Are the names listed in any particular order? I found it hard to see if I'd missed anyone obvious. Maybe order the names alphabetically?

	Schypus, my bad, Witch King is mentioned in the prologue. CrazyCat, the names are now listed in order of mention in the book, starting at the Prologue. Alphabetical order might make it too easy.

	Wow, this is crazy-tough even for a purported fanatic like me. Very nicely done. Two omissions that surprised me were Lotho Sackville-Baggins (according to my Robert Foster guide he is mentioned a couple of times) and the Watcher in the Water. Of course, the Watcher is mysterious--when Frodo asks Gandalf 'What was the thing, or were there many of them?' Gandalf's only answer is 'I do not know.' (A Journey in the Dark) But it seems safe to assume it was unique and not a race of creatures.

	Very quick reply! :) His is a brief mention until RoTK, but it occurs a couple pages into Ch. III (Three is Company): "After lunch, the Sackville-Bagginses, Lobelia and her sandy-haired son, Lotho, turned up, much to Frodo's annoyance. 'Ours at last!' said Lobelia, as she stepped inside..."

	This is a great quiz--it really had me thinking, but I think you should accept just Faramir. I put that but missed it because of the steward part. Also, is Fallohide a surname? My understanding was that it was one of the Hobbit races (Fallohides, Harfoots, Stoors). I think Longshanks is another name for Aragorn.

	Awesome quiz! With all the discussion of the Balrog, the one mentioned in the Fellowship does have a particular title: Durin's Bane. Not sure if you wanted to include it or not, as I'm not sure this name actually appears in the text of FoTR or not. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

	Fantastic quiz. Really appreciate the effort that's gone into it. I've got a lot of nitpicky points that you might want to consider. Sadly, I don't have my copy of the book to hand, so if any of these are inaccurate, please accept my apologies: Isildur, Elendil, Balin, Erestor & Galdor are all displaying twice Thingol is displaying as Dior Thingol Gildor Ingloriun should be Gildor Inglorion Milo (who never replied to letters) was a Burrows, Angelica (who considered her face too shapely) was a Baggins, not the other way round Consider displaying Elbereth for Varda Narvi (the dwarf-smith who made the west-door of Moria) is missing Shouldn't there be two Sandymans? Sandyman the Miller, featured in the conversation with the Gaffer, Daddy Twofoot & Old Noakes; and his son Ted, who mocks Sam about walking elms on the Northfarthing moors Val(i)mar is a city in Valinor, not a person, as far as I am aware Mr Boffin from Overhill has acquired an extra 'f' As I said though, these are all very minor points. Love the quiz.
