This is a fun idea but there's nowhere near enough time

This needs to be about 5 minutes, other than that it's a good quiz.

Thank you guys for a suggestion, I added one more minute. I hope it's enough. I think 5 minutes is maybe too long..

Nice quiz, but the little comments on wrong answers are kind of annoying. I'm not sure why several are critical of selecting countries on a different continent when there are plenty of times that you have to do that.

I never understand why so many quizzes give you question marks when you run out of time. Would love to see the actual answer. Isn't learning the point of Sporcle?

The quiz should make it clear that it's not supposed to be the closest to Argentina and Bolivia for each letter; I spent forever trying to figure out if you had spelled Guyana wrong.

@Jermsy - That is what happens on quizzes when you have to guess in order.

since france has french guiana in south america, shouldn't the 'G' clue be guyana? or clarify instructions somehow

^ It went to France, and the nearest G to France would be Germany which borders it.

Bah, I thought French Guiana bordered Guyana and was thinking "How do you tell which of them's closest when they both border it?".

I think it is a fun quiz, but I needed 4 attempts to complete it, maybe 5 minutes wouldn't be bad.

yeah Guyana and Germany are definitely both valid answers for France since they both technically border France.

Nice concept, but I crapped out on "Vatican City" assuming that it was wrong when it didn't accept "Vatican".

@pmacattack007: Suriname begs to differ.

Yeah, France doesn't touch Guyana because Suriname is between them, so Germany is the correct answer; however, because everything up to that point had been in South America, it was unclear whether it was still wanting the closest country to Argentina and Bolivia, in which case Guyana would have been correct.

Wow, really hard quiz. I also needed 4 attempts, only got to M the first time. Lots of fun though :)

Interesting thing about this quiz is that while it could start with any A country, the answers would all be the same starting with O, as there's only one O country.

If I have my data right, no matter what A country you start from, the answers will be the same starting from G! Once you get to D the possibilities narrow considerably, such that there are only two possibilities for F (France or Finland), both of which have Germany as their next nearest neighbor. I had started my own version of this quiz starting from Afghanistan, but I guess I will scrap it :(
