I haven't included deep/backward/forward variants. Let me know if you have any possible improvements.

Good quiz - would say that you could argue 22 could be called a 45, and am I correct in thinking that straight hit can also be called a long stop? Minor ideas only though, very enjoyable quiz

Straight hit? I have never, ever seen a fielder there, or even heard of it. Otherwise good, but I always thought fine leg was were you had long leg, and vice versa. Also think a cheeky cow-corner might be a good idea.

I think 45 is on the other side near short 3rd man, never seen it used though. Long stop is 26, an obsolete position used when the wickey is awful.

Is Cow Corner that one out on the hook? Could be a cheeky bonus!
Btw if anyone thinks I should have ALL the positions (e.g. deep forward square etc.) let me know, but there would probs be about 50 answers.

You're probably right about long stop but I'm definite that 45 is on the on side, it's 45 degrees between the wickie and square leg - it's not popular in first class cricket but my village team uses it regularly for bowlers whose line is rather less reliable! I actually fielded there quite a lot myself last season. In fairness 22 isn't really at 45 degrees between keeper and square leg, but maybe as a bonus answer?

cow corner is the man on the slog at deep midwicket, but a little straighter. 45 is the fielder on the angle, on the one for a spinner. Also called short fine leg (but normally a bit squarer). He's a man oin the single, so would be lined up with the rest of them on the circle. Bumbles, seen quite a lot in one day cricket for fielding restrictions.

super quiz! I would mention that this is a field set for a RH batsman though!
