| @ Pit_trout: i've changed it to an 'answer in order'. I also added Persia as an alternative, but not Austria. The tercio was invented by a Spanish general in service of the Habsburg empire. Accepting Austria would be a bit too far of a connection.
@ chomorros: thanks for the suggestions. I've added the Foreign Legion and the cossacks. The Vietcong however, gives the answer away too much (that's also why i used Yeoman Longbowmen instead of Welsh/English Longbowmen). In that same vain are the Hessians, who were from Hesse, which was a independent German state. So saying Hessians are from Germany/HRE would be factually correct, it would be (in my opinion) too imprecise, and Hesse/Hessia would give it away to much. |
