Can you name the famous people by their signatures?
created by
THEJMAN
Enter a signee in the box below
Correctly named signees will show up below
Due to sometimes easy legibility of last names, the full name is required for this quiz if the person does not go by a single name (i.e. Madonna would be okay, but Favre would not be)

Look at the game comment - people who often are recognized by only one name (i.e. Madonna) are accepted as such; however, becuase many signatures have fairly legible writing, single names for others are not unilateraly accepted (i.e. Brett Favre would be required, Favre would not be accepted)

creative quiz! hitler and luther signatures were a bit messy though.

@SpeedyY: as for Luther, take into account that 16th century handwriting was different from the modern one in almost all countries (and Luther's first name is spelled in Latin, i.e. Martinus). As for Hitler: the cursive script used in Germany until the first half of the 20th century was different from that of other European languages. Also Freud used to write with the German handwriting, but for his signature he adopted the common, more recognizable European script.

@dancastro, Yeah, but if Luther was going to make the effort to reform the entire Catholic Church, why not reform the European style of handwriting while he's at it?

How many different ways are there to spell "Yitzhak"? Apparently, one more than I had time to try.

I don't know where I pulled Braille's first name from, but I'm pretty proud of myself. This quiz was harder then I expected! Bravo!

I like that you included Louis Braille and forced us to give his first name. That's a bit of information I probably learned about 20 years ago in grade school and haven't needed to know until right now, yet somehow remembered. Meanwhile I couldn't tell you what I had for dinner 3 days ago.

The answers accepted are a bit "uneven." I typed "Oprah" and automatically got "Oprah Winfrey." Why didn't get "Jacqueline Kennedy" when I just typed "Jacqueline" or "Kennedy." I really coulda used that help on "Yitzhak" ...hat's off to anyone who knew how to spell that. Also, is it just me or is Enrico Fermi a bit obscure? I'm sure I learned about him in school, but that was more than 30 years ago.

I think it would be awesome in this day in age to practice a signature and get it to be as majestic as John Hancock's. It sure would turn heads, and besides, while working on say, a professional, application and they saw a signature like that, I bet that would help!

Am I the only one who read Hitler's and thought 'who on earth is Gary Kiteen'? Didn't read the real name in that one at all. But then I thought Martin Luther was easily legible only to find less than 1 in 20 people agree... i have messed up eyes, obviously!

Needs sorting out. Why is simply "Hitler" taken, but "Chamberlain" not? Surely they should all have to take a full name or just a surname.
