| I'd advise throwing out 'Eskimo' altogether. Some people consider the term offensive(Although it is technically correct in the US as a 'catch all' for the various polar peoples of the north, who are not all Inuit), it's only ever used in America as a non-pejorative, it doesn't actually describe a 'tribe'(But rather, as I said, a grouping of various ethnicities, many of whom share relatively little genealogical background), and in the US census, native Alaskans and Hawaiians are counted separately from the natives of the contiguous 48. |
