| I think the point that the second comment was making is that ARod would not be in the top 10 for most games played at third base in the decade, because he spent the first four years of the decade as a shortstop. The definition of the quiz is technically incorrect, as these lists are not the 10 players who played the most games at each position. These are the guys who played the most games overall, sorted by which position they played the most throughout the decade. For example, Alex Rodriguez did play in 1524 games in the decade, but only 963 of those were at third base, with the other 561 being at shortstop and dh. I don't know if baseball-reference has a tool to actually make a list of which players played the most games at each position, but if not, then the quiz title and instructions should be changed to attempt to explain what the quiz is actually asking for. The dh list is especially strange, as apparently very few players play the majority of their games at dh over the course of an entire decade, so the top 10 includes guys with barely 100 games. |
