| 1. I have Bruce Campbell as high as I do because he is a combine freak and everyone should know that is all Al Davis looks for. It's not necessarily the value of Campbell that makes him go that high but the fact that the draft history of that team points towards that pick.
2. Donovan Warren has been moving up boards quickly in past weeks, but that was admittedly the pick I was least happy with in the mock. The 49ers really need corner help and we saw them reach before when they had specific needs, i.e. Joe Staley, Manny Lawson.
3. While I do not think that it is a lock or even close for the Rams to take Clausen I think its a move they need to make. He's blatantly the best quarterback in the draft and as the quarterback is the most important position in the games, Suh is a beast but a DT cannot lead a team to the postseason. Cody and Williams both have fringe first round status, I agree, but every year there are many reaches in the draft that are impossible to account for, last year "draft extraordinaire" Mel Kiper called six picks correctly in the first round.
4. The Patriots take Gresham because they will release Ben Watson and Brady is in need of another passing threat, esp with Moss getting up there in age. I agree that they need a pass rusher, but in terms of value, they can take a TE who is a potential game-changer and a top 15-10 pick before the injury and eschewing a DE/OLB when they can probably snag a good one in an incredibly deep OLB class thats heavy in rounds 2-4.
5. I thought about the Dan Williams pick and might go back on that, you are right secondary help is a bigger need for the Steelers, although they could use a nose tackle and Dan Williams is an incredibly talented player whose stock is soaring. I don't think that there is any chance that McCoy goes first overall. I think at this point it should be 55/45 probability the Rams organization actually does the right thing and recognizes that to win in the NFL you need a franchise quarterback. |
