| I'm going to limit my comments to the displayed names, without even considering the validity of the list itself or the guesses you are or are not accepting: First, for consistency, either include "University" for all of them or leave it off; so, either write "Arizona State University," "Indiana University", "University of Iowa," etc., or don't include "University" in any of them. Now for the specifics: Your list refers to Boston College, not Boston University (those are two different schools, and you've listed the wrong one). It's "Carnegie Mellon," not "Carnegie." It's "Vanderbilt University," not "University of Vanderbilt." It's "University of Texas", not "Texas University" (unless you're an Aggie). I don't think I've ever heard NYU referred to as "New York." Washington University in St. Louis is not called "Washington," because "Washington" is the University of Washington, 2000 miles away (which also shows up on the list); if you want a short form for Washington University in St. Louis, use Wash U or WUSTL. It's "Cornell University," not "University of Cornell." The word "Institute" is misspelled in "California Institute of Technology." And finally, it's "Stanford University," not "University of Stanford." |
