| A person who has a title by courtesy of their father or grandfather (eg Severn, Downpatrick, Ulster) still has that title for all purposes until they die or inherit the higher title or courtesy title, so it should be them listed here really, though a note in the quiz description to the effect of only actual holders and not courtesy holders would clear that up I guess.
Also Normandy isn't really the queen's title, the channel islanders do call her that sometimes, but the people of the UK called Diana, Princess of Wales "The People's Princess" sometimes, so was that a valid title too by that logic?
Lancaster is debatable, as I understand it the Queen owns the entity 'Duke of Lancaster' and it's lands and revenue but isn't actually the Duke or Duchess herself since a title 'merges' if the monarch inherits it and isn't simply held by them at that point.
Finally I would suggest a birth year in brackets for each name so the different Prince Edwards are distingiushable. |
