| God, I wish people would shut up about how only the 195 countries on sporcle's countries of the world quiz are countries, and how it is *wrong* to separate out Hong Kong, even though it has its own entry in the CIA Factbook, its own membership in FIFA and various other organizations, etc. etc. It's obviously not a sovereign state, but it's not simply part of China either. Quizzes should follow their sources - if the source separates out Hong Kong, then the quiz should as well, and everyone should get used to the fact that sometimes quizzes will count Hong Kong or Puerto Rico as countries. I don't notice anybody complaining when "largest 50 [or 100] cities in the US" quizzes don't include San Juan. |
