You should allow "Taiwan" to count for the answer "Chinese Taipei"

Not cool that the USA is sending more athletes than the host country.

Considering the last time Canada hosted an Olympics (actually both times they ever have) they did not win a gold medal, it is pretty cool that we are allowing them to send any athletes.

Alright, vote this up if you want more time; down if you want less. It's at 8 minutes now.

And just as a note, I'm pretty sure, according to my sources at least, that the number of athletes per country and even the countries competing may be changing DAILY. It's Wikipedia mostly so it's entirely possible that something's not quite right there, but I'll try to keep up with it as best as possible.

8 minutes is fair I think. Also, most of it is alphabetical within rank, but a few are out of order (Bermuda, Uzbekistan). I think it's better being alphabetical within rank so I'd suggest fixing the order. Anyway, great quiz.

Yeah, I alphabetized them within rank and then by medal count which is why Uzbekistan is first amongst the two-participant entrants. (Just messed up on Bermuda though).

Given that Belarus is a very strong biathlon country and probably fields full teams for cross-country skiing too, it seems clearly too small a number of athletes.

You are very right seldon, the wikipedia article has only three athletes besides the hockey team listed while the Vancouver Olympic website has profiles for 48 Belarusian athletes. I have changed it and will also check the other ones who seem suspect ;)

I'm so sick of Puerto Rico, they want to be a part of the US, but never want to associate with it during the Olympics. Either be in the US or get out.

It looks like only 10 men and 10 women teams qualified for the Olympics in curling amehta, with the Bahamas not being one of those. However, they do have a page of the Vancouver Olympic site specifically for the Bahamas though no athletes are listed.

No alskdjfhg75, I don't believe they qualified for the Games this year. And tobinw: Phillip Boit is a cross-country skier and a Kenyan and I think he will be competing. I have yet to find any concrete evidence of his qualification though. Like I said, the results for the qualifiers of the Games are SLOWLY coming out and you shouldn't take this list as complete fact until at least the day before the Olympics. I'll be updating it constantly :)

@amehta: You laugh, but the Bahamas almost did make it in this year! I can report that a snowboarder (Korath Wright, formerly ranked in the top 15 in the world) fell
just
short of qualifying. I, along with all other Bahamian-Americans, am deeply saddened by the fact that we won't get to see him in that sweet teal-and-gold snow suit this time around.
(And, of course, it was one of those cheesy deals where he actually competes for Canada on a regular basis and hasn't lived in the Bahamas since he was a little kid -- there was even a great video going around of him being introduced to his family there, since he wasn't in touch -- but whatever. We were excited!)

Jean Simmons playing the princess of a very small country who is dating Oscar Madison, sportswriter. He asked if they were represented in the Olympics, and she said they sent one man and Oscar said, what event was he in, and she said, all of them, and Oscar asked, how did he do, and she said, he died in the relays!

I would be amazed if this quiz wasn't on the Main Page in the next week or so. Great job. One critique: I'm not a fan of the picture atop the page- I certainly understand the sentiment, but the image is large and completely unnecessary. Still, love this quiz.

No UAE? They're clearly not putting that indoor ski resort in Dubai to good use.
