	i'm so playing that 'u-word' next time i play scrabble. hooray for eskimo words. in fact a lot of these are high scorers in scrabble - all sorts of z, x & js floating around.

	For Scrabble players, it looks like umiak can be spelt several ways: umiac, umiaq, oomiac and oomiak - bear those in mind next time you think you have too many vowels!

	Extol was my stumbling block. You'd think with 90 seconds left and knowing the first letter, just my random guessing would have gotten the stupid thing!! As for umiak...I don't know if I had heard the word before or just stumbled in the answer with my first try, but I got it toot quick.

	Since no one's said it yet, an umiak is a large, open Inuit boat made of skins stretched over a wooden frame that is propelled by paddles. Usury is an exorbitant or unlawful rate of interest, or the act of lending money at such a rate. The ilium is the upper and widest of the three bones making up the hipbone (not to be confused with the ileum, the part of the small intestine between the jejunum and the cecum).

	I got umiak not by going crazy and typiong random combinations, but by assuming it started with 'u' (!) and working through all possible combinations of the remaining letters until I got it.
