	Maybe allow "CSA" for Confederate, or just allow U, C and B, to save unnecessary typing. West Virginia was definitely Union in 1863 (she consists of the 24 counties that would not secede in 1861 with the rest of Virginia), despite the fact that in today's politics you'd have to call her a border state. The big missing state is of course California (admitted 1851) which was a Union state with a sizeable number of Confederate sympathizers. Also Oregon (admitted 1859), a Union state. And if you're including Kansas and W. Va, admitted during the War, then you also need to include Nevada, a Union state ("Battle Born" is one of her mottoes) admitted in 1864.

	Way too much time. Also, I'm assuming that by 'border' you mean union states that still had slavery, but you might want to specify that.

	Two minutes is way too much time? It is a typing test as it is, one minute would be impossible for those of us who can't type unless it is changed to accept CSA and USA. Also, the directions imply there are 33 answers, but there are only 32 in the quiz. I also had never heard of West Virginia as a border state, given that they seceeded from the Confederacy. Not sure you'd really call deleware one, either. Slavery was legal, but not widespread and wasn't a hotbed of secession.

	What is your criteria for being a border state? These were all Union states (with Confederate sympathizers). There were others that fit the bill, and there were Confederate states with Union sympathizers. My point is that being a border state does not exclude one of the other categories.

	No need to feel guilty or apologetic, Spaceman; you should take comments for what they're worth (if anything) and not as personal criticism or blame. Most quiz-takers don't even attempt to create one of their own (without compensation), and those who have tried know how hard and tricky it can be. And there are few quizzes that have reached such perfection that no improvement is possible, so all anyone can do is think about what might work better.

	Delaware is technically a border state, since it had slavery. However, it voted against secession and no Confederate regiments were ever raised in Delaware (unlike MD, MO, and KY). I'd accept Union or Border for Delaware on that basis - it's clear the Border means the states where there was a secessionist movement and maybe a pro-Southern government established somewhere in the state. I'd also suggest that WV is a union state. Its counties seceded from Virginia to oppose secession. Plus please add California, Oregon, and Nevada. All in all, good job though!

	A Union state can also be a border state with legal slavery since the war didn't begin to end slavery, just its expansion. That said Delaware and Maryland were both Union states. So was Kentucky although it was neutral at first.
