	Simple: look at the name of the country and ask yourself, is the letter 'Y' within serving as a vowel or as a consonant? If you answer vowel, JUST TYPE 'V.' If, on the other hand, your vote is consonant, SKIP THE QUESTION. When you're finished, click "See the most missed," and we will have just had a straw poll. People who got each question "right" will be those who answered "Yes it is a VOWEL" to each of the six "questions."

	Also, this is a "response," as it were, to a quiz I made the other day about one-voweled countries. Before it launched, I typed in a comment at the very top saying in so many words, "in order to avoid a serious debate, like those in other comment sections, I made six countries with one vowel and a Y bonus answers with asterisks." Hilariously enough, the comments section quickly devolved to a grammatical debate on several of the answers. Hence.... this.

	I don't mean to sound high and mighty, but I don't think this really lends itself to a poll. The "y" in Egypt is a vowel, the "y" in Yemen simply is not.

	I definitely agree with dolebanana and bulletchewer6. I don't think it's necessary to create a whole quiz just for this 'hilarious' debate.

	I think Y is always a vowel. i dont know why you listed some countries down, but the only vowels are a e i o u. Thats it

	Y is an official consonant. It may be used in place of a vowel, however it is still a consonant. As far as this "poll" Yemen should be listed as consonant not vowel.

	Y is hardly an "official" consonant. A consonant or vowel is defined by the sound it makes. Unfortunately, y can make both sounds. "The letter Y can be regarded as both a vowel and a consonant. In terms of sound, a vowel is 'a speech sound which is produced by comparatively open configuration of the vocal tract, with vibration of the vocal cords but without audible friction...', while a consonant is 'a basic speech sound in which the breath is at least partly obstructed'" That is from Oxford Dictionaries (http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/page/200) who I trust much more then some random person's opinion on a fun little quiz site when it comes to all things English.

	yea, this is trash. what Trek222 said. Y can represent a number of sounds. That's why you're taught in freaking kindergarten that sometimes it's a consonant and sometimes it's a vowel.
