| I've submitted a similar quiz a few days ago; as the cities aren't the same, both games are playable. I agree with johnlk: it's better to speak of Latin and not of Roman names, because Latin was still used in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, although there were no ancient Romans in those times. "Olisipo" is the usual spelling for Lisbon, but Ulyssipolis appears also in Graesse, Orbis Latinus, a good source available online. Bath was Aquae Sulis, not Sulia. Amstelodamum ends in "m". Ilea Capitolina is acceptable, but it was founded as Aelia Capitolina. Dantiscum is completely wrong. It wasn't Damascus but Danzig or Gdansk (modern Poland). |
