I like the quiz, but it does seem a tad pointless to have us answering them in order. It's not like we'll be guessing "B" films when we're aiming for the "S" film. It's just kind of an inconvenience when we are ready to move on to the next question.

Great idea. Capote is a bit too easy though since you used the main character. I'd either change it to a minor character, or use a different film (there's plenty of C films to choose from).

I somehow read Itzhak Stern as a combination of Isaac Stern and Itzhak Perlman and kept trying to figure out when exactly Ben Kingsley played a violinist.

osprey: SAME!! hahaha. Shermanator: 1) great name. 2) Could you give us the letter, too? I kept having to say parts of the alphabet to myself.

You should accept 12 and 13 for Brad Pitt as well, as he plays the same character in those. Nitpicky, I know.

Your clue for Q is quite hard, because the character's full name is never mentioned in the film at all: "Agent Fields" is the closest you get. I got it, but only because I happened to know that bit of trivia.

@HarryP: yeah i know. but so far its not the most missed so apparently a lot of people know that. or its the only movie they can think of which starts with Q

Good range of films here i thought the Q one was pretty obvious as I didnt think Gemma Arterton was in Quatermass.

I agree with stinkymcgee, Dirty Dancing is a way more obvious choice.

I think this is the first quiz I've seen that had "Pan's Labyrinth" as an answer, that made me very happy. Also, I agree that Dirty Dancing was a more obvious choice.

also agree with those that say donnie darko with patrick swayze is too hard. i pushed give up and was like, wow. I also dont see the reason it has to be patrick swayze. IF you really want it to be I guess you could go with dirty dancing, but if its that big an issue you could just switch altogether.

Having Donnie Darko for Patrick Swayze is perfect precisely because everyone will type in Dirty Dancing first, thinking how easy it was, and then get a surprise when they find out they have to actually think to get the answer. People are probably getting the Quantum of Solace answer just by guessing. You could replace it will something like Quills, that would require some knowledge.

While I know most people would probably put Ocean's 11 over the other two, you should probably also accept Ocean's 12 and 13 as well. They are technically right answers.

"Norman Bates" is one of the most iconic characters in film history, from one of the most influential and masterful movies of all time -- and he is the LEAST guessed name here?!? My general opinion of Sporcle quiz takers continues to drop...

Although I've never seen the Q movie, the character name pretty much told me what the franchise had to be.

@DashDixon Hate to get technical, but "Norman Bates" was actually the fourth LEAST guessed character name. But ur point is very well taken; he shdve been in the rop 3, if not #1. At least "Rick Blaine" was #2 so there's still hope.

Perhaps Norman Bates is low on the guessing rank because people are trying to think of the movies by phoneme rather than letter... so in trying to remember a movie that starts with P, they think Prometheus, Pulp Fiction, Pirates of the Caribbean, but don't think of Psycho because the P is silent.

I'm thinking it's more likely that Norman was added after the quiz had been played many times.

If you dind't put the actor there, it would be a challenging quiz. At least give us the option to see the clue or not?

@okonheim: It would be a completely different quiz. For example, Rachel McAdams played in 5 different movies that start with "M" (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1046097/). Without the character name, any of those 5 would/should work.

For more than one reason I knew "Bridget Jones' Diary" couldn't be right as I was typing it, but since I knew no other Reese Wetherspoons films I felt I had to try it anyway.

@It_columbo: Renee Zellweger might be a little miffed to hear Reese Witherspoon has done a remake of "Bridget Jones' Diary"
