| Rant about nominations: No Cloud Atlas for best makeup, score, visual effects, or editing? No Dark Knight Rises for best cinematography, and possibly visual effects, sound editing, and sound mixing? No Marion Cotillard for best actress? No John Hawkes for best actor? No Ben Affleck, Katherine Bigelow, Quentin Tarantino, or Tom Hooper for best director? No Looper for best original screenplay? I understand that there are only so many actors/directors/producers/editors/writers that can be nominated, but I think the academy snubbed a few people this year. Pretty good job overall, but as always, some deserving people missed out. IMO, of course. |
