I know it's specified in the instructions but I disagree with the concept of including the Canaries and Azores as European islands. Geographically they are African. That would be equivalent to including Reunion, Guadeloupe and Martinique as a European islands. An enlightening quiz nonetheless.

I agree with Chriskotx. Otherwise you would need to include lots of other islands, the Antilles for instance. And please accept Mallorca for Majorca, as that is far more common outside of the UK. Even in English those two are interchangeable.

I think you've included the entire population of the UK for island of Great Britain. Good quiz though!

Since you have included the Canaries, you should include Sao Miguel (245,374) in the Azores.

If you're taking Fyn and Vendsyssel-Thy, you should probably also accept Sjaelland for Zealand. Good quiz, though--only on Sporcle would I waste two minutes trying different names and spellings for Saaremaa and then forget Iceland.

The Azores ARE European. It's Madeira, while also part of Portugal, that's geographically African.

If you include Danish isles which are connected to the mainland then also include Dutch artificial land Flevoland with around 300000 inhabitants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flevopolder

Crappy quiz: the Netherlands has several islands that certainly have more than the 62,000 of Venice! Flevoland contains the city of Almere and that city alone has almost 250,000 inhabitants.

Even if you ignore the little canals, Venice is divided quite clearly by the Grand canal.

Agree with Dutchbear: Flevopolder (341.000), Voorne-Putten (170.000), Isle of Dordrecht (119.000) and Hoeksche Waard (86.000) should be included

Rather messy, if I may say so. Sjaelland is refused, Venice 'main island' isn't one island. Then all the dutch isles that are missing what @ale06 said.
