you should accept "Oetzi" for Otzi, since his name is really Ötzi, and Oetzi is a way of spelling it without the umlaut. Otherwise, good job!

Yeltsin was elected President of the Russian SSR. When the Soviet Union dissolved later in the year, Gorbachev stepped down, since his position didn't really exist anymore, and Yeltsin became President of the nation of Russia.

American sports events aren't really "significant events" compared to global events, they just seem significant to those of you that are American.

I agree with Oru, I had no idea which team won AL in the year 1991. Instead of that I know which team won the Finnish hockey league that year.. Actually I don't remember any globally important sports events from year 1991.

yeah its far too American to be possible for anyone who isnt from America. and im not meaning the LAPD beating question or the first one or stuff like that but mostly the sports ones which would never make news here. and you should add "Sheldon's Birth: August 10" to this quiz. hahah.

I live in Buffalo area...... "Wide Right" is one of the many daggers in the hearts of Buffalo fans. Although we Bills fans now are longing for the days of losing Super Bowls after not making the playoffs in a decade (and counting).

It was a 47 yard field goal attempt, give the guy a break. People talk about Norwood as if he missed an extra point or something.

@danzam: Same here. @Fidelio: I also recall that Norwood was a big reason they were in the Super Bowl in the first place, so I really don't understand how one very difficult missed kick made him a pariah. Also? @Cheezzy0: Me too.
