What about Cyprus?

The way I defined the quiz, Cyprus would have both a 'Y' and a 'U' in it.

Also don't know if you noticed, but Iran and Iraq, both start with an I. And I is definitely a vowel.

Good point... Apparently I'm an idiot... It will be fixed.

Well done quiz. Myanmar should be included. The "y" in Myanmar acts as a consonant with its "ya" sound, not a vowel.

If you're counting y as a vowel, you should remove Seychelles.

Edited to includes those countries that would qualify if 'Y' was a consonant...

If you include Cyprus, you should also include Egypt.

The "y" in Cyprus and Egypt are clearly functioning as vowels. Neither is a 1-syllable word - the "y" acts as the vowel in the first syllable of Cyprus and the second syllable of Egypt. I'm not sure why this site struggles with this concept so much.

I think it was for the sake of consistency that he included those where a Y acts as a vowel.

@Booger, I don't see how the y in Myanmar makes a consonant sound. To me it sounds like the i in lion, but I guess we all have our own pronunciations...

Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and Cyprus all have their y as a vowel... I don't know about Myanmar, but I would say it is a vowel as well, because the way it is pronounced. Only Yemen uses the Y as a consonant.
