Civil War casualty numbers are of course open to much debate. Often many sources differ for each battle, and the Confederates often left only vague estimates. Also, some of the battles in this quiz have big numbers because they included large mass surrenders. I left them in rather than (fruitlessly) try to distinguish between soldiers captured during a battle and those captured at the end of it. Some may also quibble that some battles in a series over several days have been grouped into one; if you don't like it done that way, oh well. Interestingly (perhaps), 20 battles marked the division between battles with more than 10,000 total casualties and less. If I could have figured out how to add bonus answers, I would have thrown in a few of the notable battles that didn't quite make the cutoff...but I couldn't. Enjoy.
