After hearing about the problems with people not being able to see the Boggle Board on my previous quiz due to problems with their Internet browser, I decided to revamp the old one and create a new quiz. Hopefully the picture makes the game easier, and perhaps make it more publish-worthy (I'm looking at you Sporcle Admins ;).

Alright, I figured it was only a matter of time until these sort of comments showed up, so I'll just get this out of the way now- Please, if you aren't familiar with the rules of Boggle, check the link above before you comment about certain words you believe should be there. Thank you.

Mali is a proper noun and shouldn't count.

My screen is JUST too small to fix the answer box and the boggle board on it (mini laptop!)- please get rid of the white space at the bottom of the boggle board.

Some plurals seem to be missing, e.g. meals, teals, and I think a couple of others that I tried, though I forget which? (I know that different versions of the rules of Boggle disagree on allowability of plurals, but you've included other plurals here, so I presume these should be in there too.) Again, great quiz, though! And I was proud of getting "quirt" :-)

@crs002: I was confused about Mali too, but the source I used listed it as an acceptable word, and it is listed as an acceptable word on SOWPODS. @Matty: I think I can eliminate the white spaces, let me see what I can do. @Pit_Trout: I knew I was missing one word, and I think meals was it. I'm not sure if teals would count, but I'll look into that. Glad you enjoyed it though.

Okay I've updated the image by taking out the white spaces. Let me know if it's small enough, or if it should be bigger.

*sigh* I'm terrible at Boggle. I gave up after it wouldn't accept 'team' as I thought I'd misunderstood the game instructions. I refreshed the page and it took it the second time but I think it's a glitch with Sporcle that some users are having, not your quiz Saulmeister. p.s. the image was just fine for my screen

Huh, thats odd, I can't understand why or how that could happen, but as long as you got it to work in the end that's good. I wouldn't want you thinking you're worse at Boggle than you actually are;) Happy to hear that the image fits nicely, because it's a pain to re-upload it.

3 minutes is the regulation time in Boggle, so that's why I decided to only give that much time. You're not expected to be able to get them all. @justagirl: I'm not so sure about that, but I'll check it out.

Nice research, that's a really good source. I'll definitely add it in now, thanks. I also checked out the words you @uefa81 mentioned, and those seem to be acceptable too. I think the Boggle game I used may have a bit of an outdated dictionary.

The ONLY problem I have with the game is when I find a longer word taht starts with the letters of a shorter word! I'm used to going for the long ones in Boggle, so when the first letters have been typed in, they disappear when the short word is formed and this ham-fisted typist is left with a letter I don't want, sometimes without realizing it! I guess I should just change my approach to the game though (or learn to type)!

@Babomomebeo: Checked out "steamily" on the Scrabble dictionary website, doesn't seem to be there. @Jeremy: Thanks I'll add those in. @yippeeyappee: Somebody had the same complaint on the first version of the quiz. Think of it as getting a freebie :)

Nice idea. Pretty much impossible, though. It's frustrating when you try to type a longer word that starts with the same letters as a shorter word.

@Saulmeister: From that Hasbro website you're using, look up STEAMY. It lists STEAMILY as a sub-entry. That's the way Hasbro does it, unfortunately, online as well as in print. If you want to use a scrabble dictionary as a source, your best bet is a download from (zyzzyva.net) For a quick check of a single word, try (anagrammer.com) or any one of many cheater sites that are out there. STEAMILY is definitely a valid word. (So is SYLI, I might add.)

Ah, thank you very much for those sources, and the kind words. Looks like steamily will have to be added now (I also just realized that it passes the Sporcle spell check as well), and I'll put syli in too.

3 minutes is the regulation time in Boggle guys, so I feel like it should be kept that way for the purposes of this quiz. Glad you enjoyed it though.
