the captain/passenger doesn't work for me unless you include both. I tried John Jacob Astor for RMS Titanic and it didn't work.

This was very enjoyable. Would you consider taking William Bradford as a Mayflower response? I'd argue he's the best-known passenger, since much of what we know about the journey comes from his

Just to add to the trivia, the captain of HMS Victory at Trafalgar was Thomas Hardy and the captain of HMS Beagle was Robert FitzRoy.
