1. south = nan
2. How old are you: first character is "ni" not "hi"
3. Happy bday: third character is "kuai" not "kai"
4. half past seven: third character is "dian" not "dain"
Overall it might not be a good idea for a quiz as there are multiple ways of expressing the same phrase (eg. I tried "wo bu ming bai" for I don't understand, but to no avail.)

My Chinese teacher taught me that "how old are you" is "ni duo da le?", not "ni ji sui?".

They both mean "How old are you?". "Ni duo da le?" literally means "How big are you?" and "Ni ji sui?" means "How many years old are you?"

Actually Ni duo da le? should be used with an older audience, adults and teens. With Children ni ji sui? is more common.
