	British sign language isn't "spoken" at all, and isn't a language either but an alphabet. It can only be used in conjunction with an existing language (such as English). I wonder if that's true of the other sign languages too? Living in the UK myself, I tried Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Mandarin, Polish, Farsi: they all have many thousands of first-language speakers here.

	It seems like this quiz is about languages that originated in the UK, rather than those that are spoken in the UK--you might want to clarify that, since your title could refer to either one.

	Thanks for spotting the typo. I did try to keep it to indigenous languages, French is a bit of a grey area but I can add it to the bonus answers. British Sign Language and Irish Sign Language are languages in their own right, they have their own structure, and are not based on English (or each other). There is such a thing as signed English (it's in the bonus answers) but that's a different thing altogether. A lot people who are born deaf in the UK learn BSL from birth and many only learn English as a second language afterwards. This is why many TV programmes are signed rather than subtitled and why deaf based websites will have video intros in BSL aswell as English. Sign languages are still considered "spoken" in the linguistic definition regardless of whether speech is involved.

	Sorry, just to make things clear these are all languages which were formed at least partly in the UK and which have at least one living native speaker. Hopefully anything that's in a grey area (dialects, dead languages, cryptolects) is in the bonus answers. It's mainly based on Wikipedia but with a fair bit of original research. Thanks for playing.

	The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not part of the UK, they are separate Crown Dependencies. Therefore, the Manx language and Channel Island dialects are not indigenous to the UK.

	If you're going to include Manx, shouldn't you include Jerriais/Guernesias/Sercquiais/Norman? As Quizzesarenice said, Mann and the Channel Islands have the same political status.
