I know similar games have been done before, but I created this so that along with my "Name ALL Pokemon!" game on my other account (http://www.sporcle.com/games/SecondPlaceEagle/allpokemon) every Pokemon is now guessable in two games total, and they use the same format (only have to guess one Pokemon in the family, as this is usually just tedious typing). And remember, just like the other quiz...Week end = Random order, so if this was too easy for you, come back then! For completionists.. Eevee and Pikachu are bonus answers, and so are Rotom and Spiritomb (Just to educate people that they are not legendaries). Have fun!

Yee dawg, 46! Can't believe I forgot Chimchar though. Must be cuz I'm a Torterra user through-and-through. And Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are the least legendary legendaries, pretty much cuz they're awful. Articuno ftw.
Dec 15th, 2009 at 00:42 GMT
Nice quiz, but simple. I put 'Luigi' at first instead of 'Lugia'. I must be out of my mind...
Dec 15th, 2009 at 02:51 GMT
for some reason, charizard didn't work
Dec 15th, 2009 at 03:22 GMT
@tomjenkins - fixed, thanks for that.
Dec 16th, 2009 at 16:14 GMT
got them.. just about. Loved the rotom bonus answer ;P its a quiz that shows just how many legendaries they started to add by gen 4, its ridiculous. 5 then 6 over the first two gens, then 10 in the next and then they just go crazy and do 14+rotom for gen 4 lol. Needz moar ultra balls!
Dec 16th, 2009 at 22:09 GMT
@alexburlton - I completely agree. What sticks out most for me is the Azelf/Uxie/Mesprit trio, because we already have a trio just like every other gen (Palkia/Dialga/Giratina), so do we really need another trio all with the SAME TYPE?! Really?

Random order weekend! Probably for the last time. I missed out on yesterday, so this time it applies for Sunday and Monday.
Dec 20th, 2009 at 20:36 GMT
Pikachu is a starter, even if its only yellow version. That doesn't make Pikachu any less of a starter lol
Dec 26th, 2009 at 23:18 GMT
Might want to add Arcanine as a bonus answer. Its pokédex entry is the legendary pokémon.
Feb 12th, 2010 at 02:27 GMT
Well, Generation III had two sets of trios as well (Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza and Regice, Regirock, Registeel). There are an obscene amount of legendaries in Gen IV though. You kind of have to wonder if they thought there wouldn't be another generation after this one.

Is unown not a legendary?
Mar 1st, 2010 at 04:08 GMT
Great quiz!!! And I lol'ed when I entered in Rotom and saw the message. I knew Rotom was a legendary, but I wanted to see what would happen.
Apr 22nd, 2010 at 05:07 GMT
Awesome win here, I got 42/47, missed the Sinnoh random-encounter trio and Heatran. Probably because Sinnoh suffers from having waaaaaaaaaay too many legendaries.
Jun 22nd, 2010 at 23:08 GMT
what about missingo? that should be bonus
Feb 25th, 2011 at 07:01 GMT
It's funny how the third column (Gen IV) is just as long as the first column (Gen I and II) and only has one set of starters!
Mar 5th, 2011 at 20:18 GMT
unown is not legendary, but may be included as a bonus answer
Apr 11th, 2011 at 12:13 GMT
Haha I typed Rotom (I was bored) and I get bonus answer xD It took me 2 minutes and 20 seconds to get all 47 (or rather 48 if counting bonus)
Apr 11th, 2011 at 12:15 GMT
PS.Why even someone would think that Spiritomb is legendary? Rotom, someone would think so because of theme (only non-legendary with legendary theme :=D), but WHY Spiritomb?
Jun 30th, 2011 at 22:30 GMT
Rotom is actually a legendary pokemon, if you know your pokemon facts right.
Jul 9th, 2011 at 17:22 GMT
rotom's not a legendary. you can breed it. the only legendary you can breed is manaphy/phione.
Oct 19th, 2011 at 14:43 GMT
Seeing that this quiz was posted in 2009, I don't insist the maker to change it or what, but some remarks: 1) Phione is confirmed not to be a legendary. 2) Rotom is assumed to be a legendary due to its encounter music. 3) Spiritomb is assumed to be a legendary due to its difficulty to catch or because it has no weakness (or both).

Thunderus is spelled wrong. It's Thundurus.
Jul 26th, 2012 at 17:52 GMT
I qot all the starters except Totodile and Oshawott, which I couldn't remember how to spell for the sake of my life. Missed a whole bunch of legendaries, now hitting myself for not remembering. This was a very unique quiz!
Jul 26th, 2012 at 19:59 GMT
I was suprised about how many legendary pokemon gen 3-5 have.
Jul 26th, 2012 at 21:27 GMT
Little sad for no Missingno, the most epic of legendaries.
Jul 27th, 2012 at 00:27 GMT
Will Keldeo be in Black and White 2? I feel a bit spoilered right now but it's ok like this :). I did quite well despite knowing only a few English Pokémon names. A lot of names are luckily the same in every language.
Jul 27th, 2012 at 03:44 GMT
i guess only knowing all of the first 3 generations isn't good enough anymore...time to have some kids I think!
Jul 27th, 2012 at 04:06 GMT
It amazes me how they keep coming up with new names after another
Jul 27th, 2012 at 05:56 GMT
Let the onslaught of people complaining about Pokemon past the first generation begin!
Jul 27th, 2012 at 11:54 GMT
Phione's always been kind of pointless in my eyes. While i looks cool, it has the lowest stats of any legendary (though I could be wrong). It really would have been cooler if it actually evolved into Manaphy, which would have made them the first legendaries with evolutions.
Jul 28th, 2012 at 03:18 GMT
Gen 4 really devalued the title of "legendary". Did we really need 3 event legendaries in addition to a handful of mediocre pokemon like Manaphy and Heatran?
Jul 28th, 2012 at 23:03 GMT
Generations one and two down in ten seconds each, generation three in thirty, generation four and five, brainfart. Since when are there that many legendaries in that generation?
Jul 29th, 2012 at 16:04 GMT
Got 'em all, love all the generations ^_^
Jul 30th, 2012 at 04:09 GMT
Great quiz. I love how you accepted spelling errors, included Pikachu and Eevee, and put a note about Unown being sort-of legendary.
Aug 1st, 2012 at 18:26 GMT
Toedile, Twodile, Toodile, Todile.. Dang I can't spell
Aug 7th, 2012 at 12:02 GMT
What about the spin off starters? for example Eevee, Minun, Plusle. Please specify if it is main game series only.
Aug 9th, 2012 at 21:40 GMT
@MarciniakUCF Heatran isn't really mediocre it's actualy quite good. Its in Smogon's ou tier which is better than all 3 of the first gen birds and all of the second gen dogs can claim.
Aug 13th, 2012 at 00:24 GMT
TOO. MANY. LEGENDARIES. Less is more, Nintendo. Less is more.
Aug 23rd, 2012 at 17:57 GMT
lol, spiritomb is an extra. Goddamn i thought spiritomb was a legendary
