| "English words only" isn't going to get you very far -- you really need to specify a dictionary or word list so you can definitively say what words are and aren't accepted. I recommend TWL, which is used for, among other things, Scrabble tournaments in North America. Whichever list you end up using, I imagine it will include NENE (which is no more a proper noun than manatee or hoopoe).
On a different note, I'm baffled (or, rather, ~boggled~) by the structuring/presentation of the puzzle. Why use a grid? It only serves to confuse people, as evidenced by the comments. Requiring a specific letter also feels strange: it only excludes a small number of words, and I just don't see what it adds to the game.
Despite all my bellyaching, I love these kinds of quizzes, and I hope my criticism can be constructive, or at least be taken into consideration in the future. |
