Till the end of WWI, Austria-Hungary was huge, it included the coastline of today's Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, and even a part of Italy. Now it is quite smaller and is indeed landlocked ;)

Remind me to scroll all the way to the bottom. I never noticed Vatican City until it was too late.

Inside my head I'm thinking: Yay!! I rule at this quiz. Now tiny countries are all landlocked. Andorra is landlocked, Malta is landlocked wait... no it isn't. Monaco is landlocked DARN! Later: Why did I miss Monaco! Why did I miss Monaco! Let me get the other landlocked countries. When quiz was over: Stupid Monaco! You fooled me in to thinking that you were the Vatican. Small, Extremely small, not landlocked.

So you're telling me that Iceland isn't landlocked? Interesting...

The ones that bother me are the ones that border the Black Sea. I mean, the technicality that these countries get by on is that they have ocean access through the Bosphorus strait to the Mediterranean and eventually the Atlantic. But the Bosphorus strait is only a couple thousand meters wide. Why not just say Nebraska isn't landlocked because it's on the Missouri river? Or Austria because of the Danube? Yeah. If you're on the Black Sea you're just as landlocked as any of these other places. Let's be real.

There are two definite mistakes in this quiz: The following countries in Europe are landlocked as well: Serbia, Vatican source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landlocked_country

Azazello, technically, I suppose you have a point. But if you want to "be real" instead, you'd have to concede that ocean liners and freighters can get to Odessa, but they can't get to Omaha. The water in the Black Sea is the same water that's in the ocean, and it's all at sea level. The same can't be said for the water in the Missouri River.
