It's what we got taught at school xD http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/pe/performance/0_performance_nutrition_rev1.shtml ... Maybe it isn't the same elsewhere (didn't think of that)

Oh! That makes sense, then. I don't think "balanced diet" is a set concept like that over on this side of the Atlantic--at least, not with any kind of official list.
