Did anyone NOT go for the strategy of naming all the "stans" first?

It's interesting that Kyrgyzstan is so popular on Sporcle that it is guessed more often than Uzbekistan despite being five times less populous.

...and 10 times harder to spell. (Though avid sporclers get lots of practice.)

Only in the Land of Sporcle would so many more people think of Swaziland before Switzerland.

It's amazing how many of these I missed, even after looking at a map of the world and paying particular attention to Europe to pick out the -lands I still missed Ireland and Switzerland.

I have a big case of Sporclitis. I guessed almost every country except the most guessed one. (Afghanistan)

Did not occur to me throughout the whole quiz that "island" ends in "land"

@potternerd333: thank you for the link to the game that gives more time. Pleased to see the lands and stans put together in one game, since they both mean land.

@Piou: It's not even that strange, since you'll call it either Schweiz or Suisse. What's more remarkable is that Swaziland is the 3rd most guessed -land country.

"Go on little buddy! You can do it! I just know you'll get to 100% one day!" I feel like Kyrgyzstan is my Son; I've watched him grow from a fairly unguessed answer in the Countries of the World quiz to the mighty 70%-guessed man that he is today.. brings a tear to my eye :')

Be honest now, how many of you, in a blind moment of panic, harderned Sporclers or not, guessed Greenland.

I typed "Holland", mentally scolded myself for using the wrong name, and never thought to try the right one.

the full title for the UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland so that should probably count too.

Well, it took me six attempts, but I did it. Another person who found the stans much easier than the lands. Uaruby: the whole point is the short time allotted. Another quiz where you either know it or don't.

I typed the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to get a bonus but sadly it wasn't there. Vote up for its addition.
